Le Ballon Rouge...
It's a wonderful movie about a boy, some bullies and a balloon. It was shot in 1956 and has very little dialogue. It was the first movie I ever saw in a foreign language (it's in French). And above all, it has stayed with me unlike any other movie..
I can't wait for Ella-Bean to experience this quietly perfect short film! (And how precious, the little boy, the star of the film, is the 6-year-old son of the director). But since we are doing our best to shield her from television until she is at least two, we will have to find the book. Perhaps tomorrow...
